Pavone Lingerie stands for sustainable production. We regularly receive questions about both the environmental and human aspects of our production processes. Unfortunately, the development in producing bamboo viscose does not go the right way for all producers.

Bamboo contains cellulose fibers. To extract these from the bamboo stem you basically have two options. 1-the mechanical way where you crush the bamboo to free the fibers. And 2-the chemical way. For this, the bamboo is first treated with strong acid. Later the acid has to be neutralized again. In these processes you use chemicals. If you collect them neatly and process or reuse them, there is nothing wrong. However, there are factories that do not do this cleanly and discharge chemicals into nature.

You only get the softer fibers by the chemical method.

So chemicals are always used in the development of soft bamboo. When this is not handled responsibly, it is very environmentally damaging. When a supplier does not meet our standards, we take immediate action. Pavone visits its producers regularly to keep guaranteeing the processes.

Pavone Lingerie is OEKO-TEX 100 certified. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be sure that every part of this article, i.e. every yarn and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article is therefore harmless to human health.

The test is conducted by our independent OEKO-TEX® partner institutes based on our extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog. In the test, they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which can be harmful to human health.
